Microsoft have finally announced the new name for SkyDrive. Last July, a UK judge ruled “there was a likelihood of confusion in the average consumer” between Sky’s products and Microsoft SkyDrive. Sky said 17 customers had contacted it assuming it ran the service.

At the time, Sky said it would give Microsoft “a reasonable amount of time” to rename SkyDrive. Yesterday, Microsoft announced the new name – OneDrive and OneDrive for Business.

We also hear that Microsoft may be renaming Office Web Apps – the web versions of Microsoft’s Office Suite to Office Online. The new product names will be Word Online and Excel Online respectively.
